Aunjel Adams was born in Los Angeles, California on August 30th to a musical family.  Her mom sang gospel in church, her great-grandmother sang jazz, and her grandfather on dad’s side sang, too.  Music was always around and Aunjel found herself singing all the time.  Whenever she could she sang in church, at home for fun, and even tried forming an all-girl band in high school where they’d meet in her garage to play for fun. Basketball led Aunjel to college, but after graduating she decided to pursue her first love; music.  “Set The Mood” was her first single released on iTunes. This project pushed her musically, and the public’s great response confirmed she was on the right path. After deciding to strive to complete an entire cd, the pilot project “All of Me” was produced by Aunjel and Brian Ford from Setram music.  Brian Ford’s belief in Aunjel as a talented artist helped improve and inspire her, and confirmed her goal to be a neo-soul/R & B singer. From the time between high school and college, Aunjel managed to teach herself guitar and piano. Also, coming from a strong percussion background, she learned to play drums by playing and learning to read drum notes and new rhythms in her school bands. Aunjel gives much respect to these artists that have inspired and influenced her: Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, Etta James, Erica Badu, Alicia Keys, India Arie, Faith Evans, Musiq Soulchild, John Legend, Amel Laurrieuxand Brandy. Since releasing her new cd “All of Me” Aunjel has performed all over Los Angeles at different venues such as:  Club Highland on Hollywood and Highland, The Charleston in Santa Monica, The Complete Artist Place in San Fernando Valley, and Nola’s Cafe downtown Los Angeles, just to name a few. Aunjel is not done yet! She is currently working on a second album coming soon and plans to tour a lot more.
